I am one of the founders of and the lead writer and content manager for 8020 Automotive. I grew up in Sugar Land, TX, attended the University of Colorado, and currently reside in Denver. I have spent thousands of hours browsing forums, watching videos, taking High Performance Academy courses, and testing, repairing, and upgrading cars.
My passion for all things performance and automotive led to the founding of 8020 Automotive. Here, it is my goal to share my extensive knowledge and experience with others to assist in their automotive journey. Whether you’re simply looking for guidance on a new car, learning basic maintenance and repairs, or building an all-out track-car I love creating in-depth, informational articles to help in your car endeavors.
I first truly fell in love with cars at the age of 15 when I got my permit and 1993 Mercedes 300e (though, I had an obsession with planes, trains, cars, boats, and anything else with an engine long before). I soon found myself converted to BMW and now own an E30 325i, E90 335i, and G20 M340i. Despite my struggles buying anything other than BMW I have a deep understanding and knowledge of many performance and enthusiast vehicles.
During my time in the automotive industry I have worked on many different projects. My experience spans from publishing over 400 articles, designing performance products (intakes, intercoolers, AFM disables, and more), selling performance and OEM products, and building my BMW’s and other personal vehicles.
My Current Project

1989 M30 Swapped E30 325i
Platform: 3.5L M30 swapped into a 325i Coupe
Power Goals: Turbo? 300whp+
Purpose: Track Warrior / Drift
I bought this E30 with a swapped 3.5L M30 engine in it. I haven’t taken it to the dyno but I’m guessing it’s putting down about 225whp. The E30 is almost completely gutted with some very comfortable metal Kirkey seats and all of the nice AC, stereo, and other amenities deleted.
It’s currently setup for drifting but I’m going to be re-purposing it mostly for the track, refreshing the brakes and suspension and possibly even tossing a turbo kit under the hood.
