We are an automotive media company with over 1,500 written articles and 300 published videos, teaching you everything about how engines work and performance upgrades.
Built By Passion.
Zach and I founded 8020 Automotive in 2017 after noticing a lack of quality information online. At the time, we were building our own N54 BMW’s and found the internet was full of unhelpful forums and lacked good resources for information on performance modifications. So we set out to create the resources we wish we had when we started out journey. And nearly a decade later, here we are, still creating content to help others on their own build journeys.

The 8020 Automotive team is comprised of genuine automotive enthusiasts who not only modify and work on their own cars, but also possess extensive hands-on experience in various aspects of performance and general repairs and maintenance. Our team members have been involved in projects ranging from basic maintenance to engine swaps, turbo upgrades, and full engine builds. This diverse background allows us to produce content that is both practical and reliable, ensuring our readers receive the most accurate and helpful information possible.
I am a founder of 8020 Automotive and a gearhead since high school. I own everything from diesel trucks to 750whp BMW’s to 116hp Miata’s. I create content and keep the show running at 8020, but naturally spend a lot of time in the garage fixing all my problematic project cars. I’m a founder of 8020 Automotive and lead our content team. My interest in cars started at an early age, and ever since I got my first car – a 1993 Mercedes 300e – I’ve always had a passion to modify, repair, and maintain my own cars. My true love is BMW, I own 3 spanning from 1989 to 2022, but I have an affinity for all performance and enthusiast engines.
I manage all of the marketing efforts across our brands and handle video production, management, and growth of our YouTube channel. I’m the JDM fanatic of the bunch, with a highly modified Genesis 2.0T and previously a Scion tC. But I also have an affinity for European cars and have a Mercedes with hopes for the next vehicle to be an Audi RS5.
I’m Luke and I’m responsible for all of the ecommerce operations at our product brands. I have finer tastes than the rest, driving an ’02 Suburban that has consistently proven more reliable than any other vehicle owned by my coworkers. My side hobby is tasting and blogging about whiskey, read more about it below.

I am a senior content writer that began working at 8020 Media in 2022. I am a technical expert with a degree in Technical Writing and love wrenching on my classic BMW’s and track-cars. I specialize in JDM and Euro vehicles but my in-depth knowledge and hands-on automotive experience gives me the ability to produce a wide range of articles.
I joined the 8020 Media team in 2022 as a content writer. In many ways, I am a jack of all trades, with extensive knowledge on GM LS engines and Ford’s Coyote engine, and also have a wealth of hands-on experience with Subaru and other JDM brands. I am a true gearhead and have been performing all of my own maintenance, repairs, and modifications for over 10 years.
